Spicy foods can give you heartburn and affect thermoregulation while sleeping.
Spicy foods can cause acid reflux, heartburn or other digestive problems. If you’re eating spicy foods and going to bed, you might be experiencing these symptoms while your sleeping. Flying down after eating a spicy meal can cause heartburn.
Studies have also found that eating spicy food before bedtime raises your body temperature and reduces slow-wave and stage 2 sleep and increases the total time awake as you’re trying to fall asleep.
